MediSense Normal Flow Control Solution

The MediSense Control Solution from Abbott offers a simple and quick way to deliver accurate blood glucose testing. The control solutions main purpose is to check and verify that your test strips and glucose meter are working properly and accurately.

The MediSense Glucose Control Solution is only to be used with the following:

• FreeStyle Libre 14 Day System
• FreeStyle Libre 2 System
• FreeStyle Precision Neo Glucose Meter
• FreeStyle Precision Xtra Glucose Meter

The MediSense control solution is not to be used with the FreeStyle Lite Meter, FreeStyle Freedom Lite Meter, or the FreeStyle Insulinx Glucose Meters. The control solution used for these meters is the FreeStyle Control solution.

What is Control Solution?

Control solution is basically “fake blood” that contains a recognized amount of glucose. The solution is applied to a test strip just like a typical blood sample, and the subsequent reading will tell you how well your glucose meter and test strip are working together.

The glucose reading should match a specified range which is usually listed on the test strips, and if the reading doesn’t match, the user will know there could be a problem with the strips or with the reader.
